Venice curbs Atalanta, Lookman attacked by fans

In the advance of the twenty-seventh day of Serie A, Venezia held back Atalanta: the orobici failed to overcome the Lagunari despite the many chances they had.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s lineup took a while to get into gear but then had two huge chances with Zappacosta and Cuadrado, both stopped by the post. Just before halftime Zerbin had a chance to put his side ahead but Carnesecchi è was very good at preventing it.

Even in the second half it was the Orobici who held the ball of the game, with De Ketelaere a constant danger to the Venice defense. As the minutes passed, the Lagooners gradually lowered their center of gravity but with only a few minutes to go they had a bad time: Lookman, alone two steps away from Radu, had a gigantic chance but resoundingly kicked it high. The Nigerian's mistake unleashed the ire of fans who unabashedly attacked the champion on social media.
