Lyon, sting on Paulo Fonseca
Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca è was suspended from his technical role until next November 30 by the disciplinary commission of the French League for threatening the referee in a 'head-to-head' during the Ligue 1 match between his team and Brest (2-1) after being sent off.
In addition to that, until Sept. 15 he will not have access to his locker room. The suspension does not è apply for now in European competitions and the Portuguese will sit on the bench in the Europa League match tomorrow against Steaua Bucharest.
Truly a terrible season for the Portuguese coach, who had been signed by AC Milan last summer but è was put through the door on December 30 before landing a month later in Ligue 1 at Lyon. From 2019 to 2021 he had instead coached Roma, picking up a fifth and a seventh place finish.
