European indoors, Mattia Furlani in the final in the long run in fluency
Mission accomplished for Mattia Furlani, who qualified for the long jump final at the European indoor track and field championships in Apeldoorn.
On the first day of competition, the Italian, who at the age of 20 already boasts an Olympic bronze medal in the specialty, moved up from fifth with 7.95, a measurement he achieved in the first available jump.
This jump was then followed by a null and the "steps" final, when it was quite clear that adding a measure would not change anything. Leading the way was Portugal’s Baldé who jumped 8.11.
