Dominik Paris is not in his skin after his extraordinary victory in Kvitfjell

Dominik Paris è charged up after his big downhill win in Kvitfjell, the first personal victory of a season in continuous crescendo. "Nice, really nice,” he said. “I don’t know if I was great, I tried to run the skis to the maximum and it went well. Skiing I didn’t feel great but I felt so much speed. With the wind and the salt it was not easy to figure out how to interpret the slope; the feeling was not great, but what counts è the final time".

"Finally I am ahead of the Swiss,” he added. “Right now they are the strongest, the men to beat, and it was important for me to get back in front. I am sorry there is no Mattia Casse today, it would have been nice to do a double, but the opportunity will happen. Odermatt and the other Swiss always maintain a very high standard on every level. They are not unbeatable, they can be beaten and I have proven it, but to do that è everything, every single aspect, must be taken care of to perfection. And you must not make mistakes".

" Fortunately, I found a solution to the setup – explained the Carabinieri athlete again. Soì more positive feelings came and with them also confidence and awareness. I was still not constant but I felt the possibility of being able to be near or in front of others. Between my last success in Val Gardena and today’s win there’è a lot of work, from the whole team’".

"When things don’t go perfectly, you want to find a solution but sometimes it takes time. In Bormio I realized I was on the right track, in Wengen I came close to the podium as well as in Saalbach. Then between Crans Montana and Kvitfjell I came back to the top: it was crucial to prove to myself and others that I was still capable of being here, also with a view to the future. The others now know that Paris è still able to win" he then concluded.
