Federica Brignone seeks more key points in Are

As the season finale approaches, every race becomes more and more important, especially for those who, like Federica Brignone, è lead the overall World Cup standings: the champion from Valle d’Aosta will try in Are, Sweden, to win crucial points for the ranking, which sees her ahead of Lara Gut-Behrami by 251 points.

The first race on the schedule è the giant on Saturday, which sees Brignone herself among the main protagonists announced: "Are è a slope that I è always liked very much, because è è a giant all to push, with variations and many different gates, where you almost never brake" said the Italian, who this year won in giant in Solden, Semmeringe  twice in Sestriere.

Federica Brignone's only doubt è related to the weather conditions, especially the possible presence of wind: "(The course) è all varied to push and è long, in recent years we have found warm snow, at the moment the organizers have salted becauseé temperatures are high and the conditions are not the best. I hope there is no wind in the race, last year I did a great second run which I hope to repeat".

Brignone will be one of eight Italian athletes competing in the giant slalom in Are: the others are Sofia Goggia (in her 200th World Cup appearance), Marta Bassino, Roberta Melesi, Asja Zenere, Elisa Platino, Ilaria Ghisalberti and Lara Della Mea. Brignone, in addition to commanding the overall standings, è second in the giant slalom standings, with 40 points to make up on New Zealand’s Alice Robinson.
