Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti make their debuts in Indian Wells

Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti will be engaged in the Italian night at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, the first of the season, scheduled at the’Indian Wells Tennis Garden (prize money of $8,963,700) along with the WTA 1000 that will be broadcast live on SuperTennis, live and free-to-air.
Matteo Berrettini (29 ATP), back in the Top 30 for the first time since June 2023, è the only Italian in the first quarter of the draw. Number 28 seed, he starts directly in the second round against Australia's Christopher O'Connell (75).
Berrettini has participated five times in the Indian Wells Masters 1000 with a record of three wins in eight overall matches. The best result remains the eighth final in 2022 (beaten by Miomir Kecmanovic).
O'Connell boasts a career best ranking of No. 53 achieved in September 2023. He has never reached an ATP final, but has played at most two semifinals in San Diego in 2022 and Munich in 2023, after beating then world No. 16 Alexander Zverev in two sets.
