Ekuban and Cornet go knockout

The injury issue in Genoa’s home side is further aggravated. After Messias and Vitinha, in fact, Patrick Vieira also lost Caleb Ekuban and Maxwel Cornet to injury, both of whom exited prematurely from the last league match against Cagliari that ended with a 1-1 score.

The instrumental examinations to which the Italo-Ghanaian center forward underwent, in fact, showed a muscle resentment, which will force him to skip the last Serie A match before the break for national teams against Lecce.

More serious, however, è is the problem reported by the French-Ovorian outfielder, who suffered a flexor muscle injury, which will keep him away from the playing fields for about a month. The former West Ham man is expected to most likely miss the challenges with Lecce, Juventus and Udinese.

From the infirmary, however, also comes good news for Patrick Vieira, namely the recovery of Morten Thorsby. The former Samp, in fact, has resumed training with the group and could snatch a call-up for the salvation clash against the Salentini.
