Jonathan Milan acts modest after success

Thanks to an auteur sprint, Jonathan Milan won the second stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, which started from Camaiore and ended in Follonica for a total of 192km covered. For the Lidl-Trek rider it was the fourth success of the season.

"In the’last corner I had the feeling that we were going too fast and I got a bit scared’ – he admitted in the press conference -. In the end, however, è everything went according to plan. A year ago we did not win here, sometimes you win, sometimes you learn lessons. Today the team è was flawless. Staying united until the’last corner è was crucial to make the best possible sprint".

"I don’t know if I am the strongest sprinter in the world. There are Tim Merlier, Dylan Groenewegen, Olav Kooij, Jasper Philipsen so it is not for me to make judgments – continued the Friulian sprinter -. I feel good ahead of Milan-San Remo. È a race where you have to save energy and play smart. We will go there with a strong team".

"First, for`, I want to make the most of Tirreno Adriatico, which every year helps me to reach a good condition for the classics, then we will see. Filippo Ganna gave the’example of what should be done when è he came second two years ago" concluded Milan.
