Nick Kyrgios continues to struggle with his wrist injury, a battle that is heavily affecting his start to the 2025 season. After retiring during the first round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 against Botic Van de Zandschulp, the Australian tennis player spoke with frustration about the situation, but also expressed a firm determination not to give up. Despite the pain in his wrist, Kyrgios said he wants to keep playing and not give up: "I want to play, I want to play…".

The 29-year-old admitted that the condition of his wrist is still an unknown and that the upcoming engagement in Miami, scheduled as a stop on his calendar, is not è ideal. Kyrgios, in fact, will use his protected ranking to participate in the tournament, but his availability will depend a lot on the response of his body. "The pain is not è very strong, but he will continue; trying to do what è necessary" he explained during the press conference. "Of course, the schedule with Miami è far from ideal, but è theè I planned to play. I will see how my wrist responds".

Despite the physical difficulties, Kyrgios showed remarkable resilience, declaring that he will continue to look forward without letting it get him down. "There are flashes of great tennis that I can still play" he said. "I think this process has been one of the biggest challenges I have ever faced in my life. Actually, it è nothing serious, but for my career, è by far the biggest challenge."

Indeed, the sore wrist and physical difficulties do not seem to be stopping Kyrgios’ desire to return to the highest level of tennis. The Australian, who has always had an up and down relationship with his career due to injuries and periods of form, continues to struggle to overcome physical obstacles and return to compete at the top. His determination and passion for the game are evident, and despite the challenges, Kyrgios has no intention of giving up. The next stop, Miami, could be another chapter in his battle, and if his wrist gives him a break, he could still thrill audiences with his explosive talent.
