In Milan, Italy, the Stihl Timbersports World Championship 2025

The countdown has already begun: the Stihl Timbersports World Championship 2025 will be held in Milan, bringing Italy back to the center of the international scene of this recognized series of extreme sports competitions centered on logging. After the great success of the World Trophy 2024, the circuit returns to the Lombard capital with the most prestigious event.

Indeed, on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25, the Allianz Cloud Arena will host the best wood heroes on the planet for two days of breathtaking challenges. 3,000 spectators are expected each day as 120 of the world’s best athletes from 20 nations battle it out in a two-day, high-intensity event.

“We are excited to bring the World Championship Stihl Timbersports to Milan for the first time, a city that is a benchmark for major international sporting competitions. This event offers a unique opportunity to bring the Italian public closer to an extreme and fascinating sport, where strength, precision and tradition come together in spectacular performances. We are confident that the passion of the athletes and the energy of the city will make this edition unforgettable”, says Massimo Gallo, Stihl Italia CEO.

The event kicks off on Friday, October 24 with the World Team Championships, a knockout competition in which the best national teams will compete in four iconic disciplines: Stock Saw, Single Buck, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop.

The Chopperhoos, the defending champion Australian team after their Toulouse 2024 triumph, aim to lift their 10th world title. A’s eventual victory would mark their sixth consecutive triumph, but the challenges are shaping up to be fiercer than ever in an attempt to break their dominance. There is also great anticipation for the Italian national team, ready to put on a show and ignite the home crowd.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the spotlight will be on the individual competition: the 12 best wood heroes in the world will take the stage at the Allianz Cloud to compete in all six disciplines (Stock Saw, Single Buck, Underhand Chop, Standing Block Chop, Springboard and Hot Saw) in a three-round elimination format. Only the best will win the title of World Champion.

The qualifiers are still open, but the stakes è very high: the national champions from Australia, the United States, Canada and New Zealand will face the best eight European athletes. The Italian champion of the Pro category, as the host, will have a guaranteed place in the competition. The defending champion è the American Nate Hodges.
