Indian Wells: Holger Rune takes down Daniil Medvedev and flies to the finals

The name of the first finalist arrives.
Holger Rune will play the final of the Indian Wells tournament. The Dane è earned the final act of the Masters 1000 played on the Californian cement by beating in just over an hour and a half Daniil Medvedev, in a 7-5, 6-4 without argument.
The first possible breakthrough in the match had come in the fifth game of the first set, when Rune snatched service from Medvedev, who was able, però to hit the counterbreak already at 3-3. After an eternal eighth game (as many as 18 points) è it was then the eleventh that proved decisive, with the Dane who è took a further break and è won the set in the next game.
Much easier was Rune’s task in the second set, with the break found as early as the third game in the midst of two service rounds in which Medvedev è failed to score a single point. The Dane leaves the crumbs to his opponent, who is ahead of him in the ATP world rankings, and goes on to win the Indian Wells final.
For Rune, this is the fourth career final in a Masters 1000 on the ATP circuit. He had previously won in Paris-Bercy in 2022 by beating Novak Djokovic and lost twice in 2023, however: in Monte Carlo against Rublev and at the Internazionali d'Italia precisely against Medvedev.
