F1, Australian GP: Lando Norris enjoys victory

Brit’s dream debut in the 2025 F1 season

Lando Norris’ F1 World Championship gets off to the best possible start. The McLaren driver takes home the Australian GP and becomes the leader of the F1 driver standings for the first time in his career. For Lando Norris this is the fifth career victory, probably the most sweaty and exciting.

"È it was fantastic, very tough race, especially having Max Verstappen behind him. Definitely è it was stressful but also an amazing way to start the season. The race conditions were really tricky, è it was difficult but also fun", the words of Lando Norris himself at the end of the Australian GP.

The McLaren driver also thanks the team: "Last year we had everything wrong. I think we learned a lot from our mistakes. È only the first of 24 races but è it was a very good start for us. I, personally, pushed the whole race and in the end è it went well".

Lando Norris also dwells on the duel, in the last corners of the GP, with Max Verstappen: "Last lap? I drove, Max was fast. I made a mistake and he got the DRS. I had to look in the mirror a lot, more than I wanted to but è ended well", the F1 World Championship’s first leader’s gloss. Max Verstappen, second at the finish, è however, satisfied: "That’s 18 more pointsù than I did here last year".
