Lucrezia Stefanini and Elisabetta Cocciaretto immediately out in Miami

No second-round derby with Jasmine Paolini for Lucrezia Stefanini in Miami. After hitting the main draw, the Tuscan tennis player è surrendered in three sets to Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova with a score of 3-6 6-1 6-3.

Ready to go and the two players immediately exchanged breaks and counter-breaks. From the third game, the two rivals begin to measure each other and the balance holds until the eighth game, where Stefanini manages to break Sramkova’s serve again and clear the way for the 6-3 final.

Hurt by the lost set, the Slovak tennis player immediately got off to a rocket start winning three consecutive games. The Italian player, for her part, tries to fight back, but the Bratislava native doesn't lower her intensity and with another three-games-to-zero run she wins the partial set with a clear 6-1.

The third and decisive set è characterized by numerous changes of front: Sramkova starts better and finds the break in the opening game. In the third game comes the comeback by Stefanini who from 0-2 goes to 3-2. At that point, however, comes a real black-out for the Italian, who loses all four consecutive games, allowing the Slovak to close the match on 6-3.

It didn&#39t go any better for Elisabetto Cocciaretto, also already eliminated from the Miami tournament. The Marche-based tennis player, in fact, è was defeated in two sets by Romanian Sorana Cirstea with a score of 6-3 7-6, in almost two hours of play.

The biggest regrets for the Italian, however, are in the second set, where she failed to capitalize on the break in her favor, first suffering a comeback by her opponent and then surrendering in a sprint at the tie-break with a score of 7-5.

In the next round, Rebecca Sramkova will face world number six Jasmine Paolini, while Sorana Cirstea è awaits a challenge with U.S. Danielle Collins.
