De Gea is fine at Fiorentina but the priority now is a'different one

De Gea is one of Fiorentina’s pillars. With him defending the lily-livered goal, everyone is more relaxed. The 34-year-old Spanish goalkeeper is having an outstanding season and, as is only natural, the Viola fans want him to stay in the future. Too valuable is his contribution.
Through the columns of Repubblica, De Gea spoke about his future: “I signed for one year and the club has an option for renewal. I am happy in Florence, I am happy to be at Fiorentina, first, however, it is important to finish the season as well as possible”. In short, lots of desire to stay but first we need to do well in the final sprint, perhaps bringing home the Conference League, the most important goal the Viola still has.
Should he stay, De Gea would see his salary doubled. Currently, the former Manchester United goalkeeper has a salary of 1.2 million euros. Next year, if he stays in Florence, he will earn exactly double that, or 2.4 million euros.
For what he is showing on the field, a more than fair figure. De Gea, with his saves, has brought so many points to Palladino’s team. No one has a single doubt that Fiorentina’s number one is him and should be for next season as well.
