Worlds, Conti and Macii second after short program

Sara Conti and Niccolò Macii starred in the first day of the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston. The Italian pair occupies the second provisional position with a score of 74.61 and is in the running to achieve a medal in the free program that will be contested in the night between today and tomorrow.

Leading the way are Japan’s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kiyhara (76.57), followed precisely by the tricolor pair, Germany’s Minerva Fabienne Hase/Nikita Volodin (73.59) and Georgians Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava (71.68). Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini were in 14th place, with a tally of 60.10.

In the women’s competition, Lara Naki Gutmann is 14th after the short program. This is the best result of her career in a rainbow short program. The Italian had the merit of not being affected by a fall on the triple toeoop + triple toeloop combination, moreover executing a quality triple lutz in the second part of the program, achieving 61.72 points.
