Arek Milik, endless ordeal: return still slips

There seems to be no solution to Arek Milik’s physical problems: the Juventus striker, who has been out of action since the beginning of last June, may even be forced to postpone his return until next season since, as reported by ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ which cites sources close to Continassa, he has suffered a new muscle injury that makes it impossible for him to return to the field for training.
Milik’s last game was on June 7, 2024, and lasted just five minutes: in the opening stages of Poland-Ukraine, a friendly in preparation for Euro 2024, the Bianconeri striker had to give way to Kacper Urbanski, and in fact has not seen the green rectangle since. First the knee injury, then the calf injury and subsequent muscle problems have effectively stalled the career of the 31-year-old Tychy-born.
Milik, in the course of his competitive activity, has had to deal with other very long breaks: more than four months in the 2016-2017 season due to an ACL rupture during his time with Napoli, almost six months, in the following year also with the Parthenopeans, due to another knee problem, and another four months in 2021, when he played for Olympique Marseille, again due to a knee injury.
Milik’s absence has weighed in no small part on Juventus’s year, which on several occasions has been unable to count on a center forward with similar characteristics to Dusan Vlahovic. It remains to be seen now how the new break will be managed, also from a market perspective given the reopening of negotiations in the summer.
