Italy on the podium at the World Figure Skating Championships underway in Boston. Sara Conti and Niccolò Macii, second after the short, took bronze in the artistic with an overall score of 210.47, only 58 hundredths away from a personal best.

Gold went to Japan&#8217s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kiyhara (219.79), who edged out Germany&#8217s Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin (219.47). The’other Italian pair of Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini finished 13th (174.08).

For Conti/Macii it is the second rainbow medal of their career: the bronze in Boston is in addition to the one won in Saitama in 2023. The two Azzurri’s two rainbow podiums are the only ones achieved by Italy in the history of the World Figure Skating Championships in the artistic pairs.

Thanks to the rainbow placings Italy will have two places available at the Games in Milan-Cortina. In the men&#8217s individual event, after the short, rookie Nikolaj Memola is seventh, while Daniel Grassl (Fiamme Oro), accomplice to a fall on the quadruple lutz attempt, is 14th.
