A special day at Coverciano to mark the Digital Cup

The Digital Cup 2025 in Florence at the Coverciano Federal Technical Center closed with a great success. The Italian National Digital Communication team this year proposed an unprecedented challenge between Social Networks and AI & VR, which ended 5-7 after a very balanced match. Before the match a special award, the Smartphone d’Oro, to Valentina Baggio for her digital communication activities and for creating and managing her dad Roberto’s successful Instagram account.
The President of the National Digital Communication Team, Francesco Di Costanzo, received from Gaia Simonetti and Chiara Castellani the ‘Let’Let’s Build Kindness in Sport’ award for the sports and kindness projects carried out together with the entire National Team.
The pre-match talk, hosted by Lorenzo Agostini, was attended by many representatives of the sports, digital and institutional worlds. The event supported fundraising for the Trisomy 21 Association, which is dedicated to supporting people with Down Syndrome and their families. Among the participants in the’initiative were Stefano Ciuoffo, Tuscany Region Councillor for Digital Infrastructure and Innovation, the Councillors for Digital and IA and Sport of the Municipality of Florence Laura Sparavigna and Letizia Perini, former soccer player Mark Iuliano, Carlo Rombolà, an expert in sports law and lecturer at LUISS and at the University of Rome’s Foro Italico, YouTuber and Content Creator Matteo Colombo – Rohn, National Gamers President Fabio Battista, National TV Artists Vice President Manuela Bresciani, Rondinella Marzocco center forward Alessandro Polo, La7 journalist Andrea Pennacchioli, l’actor and TV host Gian Marco Tavani, Saverio Bari, captain of the Italian National Subbuteo team and winner at the 2023 European Table Football Championships, and Marco Lamberti, CT of the National Team champion of Europe, as well as many journalists, communicators, social media managers, and digital experts from all over Italy.
The initiative, as always, focused on dissemination and awareness of digital issues and charity. Francesco Di Costanzo, president Italian National Digital Communication: “Also this year, thanks to the support of the partners and all the people involved in the initiative, we experienced a day full of emotions and the telling of experiences of sports, digital, communication, charity. We told about the main changes affecting the world of sports and digital, for example, generative AI and virtual reality and the novelties of social platforms. On the field we tried to give an afternoon of fun and charity with the ball. A big thank you to everyone who participated, the Digital Cup will return in 2026”.
