The new era of Igor Tudor-led Juventus began with a victory. The Bianconeri, in fact, made the home factor count by imposing themselves by a narrow margin over Genoa, thanks to a pearl from Yildiz on an assist from Dusan Vlahovic.

The first chance is for the hosts on 7′: Nico Gonzalez serves Vlahovic on the right, who crosses to the second post for Yildiz, who concludes with a header finding the providential opposition of Sabelli on the goal line. The match director, all the same, cancels everything for offside of the Serbian striker at the moment of the potential assist.

The Bianconeri’s forcing is repaid in the 27th minute: on the development of a throw-in, the ball ends up in the feet of Yildiz, who dribbles past De Winter dryly and strikes Leali with a precise right-footed diagonal.

In the second half, it was Genoa that came close to taking the lead with Pinamonti, whose shot barely grazed the post to Di Gregorio’s right. After the pinwheel of substitutions, the match becomes more broken up with many contrasts in the middle of the field.

In the 73rd minute, it was the hosts who went close to doubling the score with Kalulu, who header threatened Leali, who was forced to make a super intervention to keep his team in the game. In the final, however, the Bianconeri are adept at keeping possession of the ball and managing the lead in the opponent’s half until the final whistle.
