Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia explains controversial gesture: "I dedicate the victory to them"

The Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia has returned to smile after a complicated start to the World Championship. So many pundits and insiders, even former riders, were already giving him up for dead in the confrontation with Marc Marquez, but the Piedmontese rider managed to impose himself right in Austin, where the’eight-time world champion is very strong, taking advantage of a mistake of the Catalan.
Bagnaia after crossing the finish line made the binoculars gesture: a message to critics who have been dismissing him in recent weeks. “Some people who work in this world, in this sport, who have been pilots, have said some things about me that I really did not understand”, said the Ducatista at a press conference.
“If they have been MotoGP and MotoGP riders, they should know the situation perfectly well. Hearing what they were saying motivated me a lot. This victory is for all of them”, said Bagnaia stingingly.
On the chaos at the start: “When I saw Marc I threw myself too’myself. I know he is the best in these situations and I’ve followed him”.
