Houston: Lee wins, Manassero 39th

Min Woo Lee scored his first victory on the PGA TOUR by winning the Texas Children’s Houston Open, played on Memorial Park Golf Course. The 26-year-old Australian finished with a total of -20 (260 strokes), thanks to four excellent rounds (66-64-63-67) facing variable weather conditions including wind, rain, fog and sunshine.
Matteo Manassero finished the tournament in 39th place with -9 (271 strokes), thanks to four even rounds (68-69-68-68). It was a test that confirms the progress of the Veronese, still looking for continuity in a so far alternating-current season. Francesco Molinari, on the other hand, stopped at the cut.
With this success Min Woo Lee joins a small group of only seven players who have achieved just in Houston their first title on the circuit. The boy’s parents, Soonam and Clara Lee, are originally from South Korea and moved to Australia in the early 1990s. His older sister Minjee Lee, is also a professional golfer.
