Lazio and Torino face each other at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 8:45 p.m. Monday, March 31, to close out the 30th day of Serie A. Baroni’s team is going through a difficult period, with a downturn that has been going on since the game against Napoli, when Castellanos was first injured. In these last eight matches, the biancocelesti have won only two victories, both achieved in a painful way against AC Milan and Viktoria Plzen. The’latest heavy defeat against Bologna, 5-0, raised many concerns in the Lazio household. The team, which looked in great form at the start of the season, now faces a crisis at precisely the most delicate moment of the year.

The match against a Torino in top form does not come at the best time for the biancocelesti. The Granata team, coached by Vanoli, has shifted gears after the January market and is now traveling at a European-zone pace. In the last five matches, Torino has had four wins and one draw, showing solidity in defense and a finally found attack, which has lifted the team’s fortunes.

About the lineups, Marco Baroni, despite the heavy defeat against Bologna, is not expected to make any major changes to Lazio’s starting eleven. The team will line up with 4-2-3-1: Provedel in goal, Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli and Hysaj in defense, with Nuno Tavares absent. In midfield, Rovella and Guendouzi are expected to start. In attack, Isaksen, Dia and Zaccagni will act behind Noslin, who will be the’only forward. Castellanos’s absence therefore pushes Dutchman Noslin to fill the role of center forward.

On the other hand, Vanoli is expected to make only the necessary changes to his Torino side, which will also deploy the 4-2-3-1. Milinkovic will be between the posts, with Walukiewicz, Coco, Maripan and Biraghi forming the defensive line. Casadei and Ricci, now a fixed pair in midfield, will be confirmed starters, as will Vlasic in the three-quarter and Elmas on the left. The change could come on the right flank, where Lazaro could take Gineitis’ place. Adams, on the other hand, seems to be in full form and should start from the first minute in attack.
