Coppa Italia, derby first leg of semifinal between Milan and Inter Milan is tied

At the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza the first leg derby of the Coppa Italia semifinal between AC Milan and Inter ends 1-1, everything will be decided in the return leg in three weeks.

First chance in the 9th minute and it’s for Correa who on the developments a corner tries the right, Maigan is careful and saves on the dive. Replied on 16′ by Theo Hernanez who, however, sends his right footer high. In the final minutes of the first half, Inter seemed to put the game to sleep but then suddenly Carlos Augusto gives to Thuram, Frattesi inserts and his header doesn’t angle and Maignan clears, the ball then reaches Bastoni who sends it high.

The second half begins.

The resumption begins with Inter practically staying in the locker room and Milan holding the ball for a minute and a half, eventually Abraham with his back to goal, controls, turns and right-footed strikes Martinez for the Rossoneri’s lead. In the 50th minute, Barella tried a low right-footed shot on which there was another diving deflection by Maignan.

But the French goalkeeper can do nothing in the 67th minute: prolonged Inter action, Correa touches back for Calhanoglu who slingshots the right-footed shot from outside, slight deflection by Reijnders misleading Maignan, the ball goes under his hand and ends in the goal for the Italian champions’ equalizer.

In the 80th minute, sensational smoothness by Walker, ball to Zalewski, who had just entered, an inch from Maignan, who blocked his shot with his right foot. Once again the goalkeeper saves the Rossoneri in the 84th minute by lifting a counter-attacking finish by Mkhitaryan into a corner.

In the 86th minute, Leao’s classic right-footed shot from the left ends just wide. There are no more chances, a very lively derby ends 1-1.
