A Milan and Fabio Paratici’s future is now. The Rossoneri club and the DS have reached a verbal agreement for the role of the new sporting director of the Rossoneri club. After several meetings, the last of which took place yesterday in London, led to almost final closure. The lawyers now at work preparing the contract. Although the officialdom has not yet arrived, the fate now seems sealed and the announcement may take some time, since there are important clauses to be defined.

The decisive step has been taken: Milan has chosen Paratici, and he has chosen Milan. This deal represents a turning point for the Rossoneri club, which is aiming for a revival through the experience and vision of Paratici, a former Juventus sporting director with a successful past at Tottenham as well. The negotiations, which have developed over the past few weeks, have seen the direct involvement of Giorgio Furlani, Milan’s CEO, and the presence also of Gerry Cardinale, founder of RedBird, the fund that owns the club, which certifies the advanced stage of negotiations.

The profile of Paratici, with his vast experience, knowledge of soccer and a long career marked by numerous successes (in particular the 9 Scudetti won with Juventus), was decisive for Milan, which aims to return to the top of Italian and European soccer as quickly as possible. Although Paratici had received other offers, it was the Milan project that convinced him to marry this new adventure.

A point still being defined concerns the composition of the team that will flank Paratici. The executive has proposed Lorenzo Giani, currently at Sampdoria, for the role of head of the scouting area, a role he also held in the past alongside Paratici at both Juventus and Tottenham. However, Furlani seems intent on confirming Geoffrey Moncada, Milan’s current technical director and his trusted man, for the second time in this position. This is one of the last details to be resolved before proceeding with the formalization of the agreement.

Accordingly, Milan is preparing for a new phase under Paratici’s leadership, with the goal of building a competitive and winning team. The project is clear and the understanding between Paratici and Furlani is solid. All that remains is to wait for the’officialdom, which could arrive in the coming days, but by now the road is marked out for the new Rossoneri sporting director.
