Flavio Cobolli, Italian tennis player, returns to smile and conquers the semifinals at the Atp 250 tournament in Bucharest, after a hard-fought victory against Austrian Filip Misolic. The Roman tennis player, who has faced more than one difficulty this year, managed to overcome his opponent with a score of 7-6 6-4, at the end of a battle that lasted just under two hours. Despite the difficulties, Cobolli showed great determination, winning passage to the next round in a clay tournament that gives him one of the most significant joys of his season.

The first set was very hard-fought: Cobolli took an early lead, leading 4-3, but Misolic, currently world number 232, managed to recover and take the set to the tie-break. At this delicate stage, it was the Italian who played better, winning the decisive point and winning the first fraction. In the second set, the struggle continued, but Cobolli took the lead, finding the decisive break at 5-4, when the Austrian conceded as many as three match points. After wasting the first two, Flavio left no chance in the third, closing out the match and winning passage to the semifinals.

This victory marks the Roman’s return to a semifinal since the 2024 Washington tournament. Now Cobolli awaits the winner of the match between Bosnian Damir Džumhur and Spaniard Pedro Martinez. Meanwhile, other Italians are busy on other courts: in Marrakesh, Luciano Darderi and Mattia Bellucci will be featured in their respective matches. Cobolli, with this victory, moves closer to a possible return to the top, confirming his qualities on a surface that is favorable to him.
