Two weeks after his exoneration, Thiago Motta has returned to speak his truth about his farewell to Juventus and did so in an interview with Walter Veltroni for the ‘Corriere della Sera’. The coach had his say on the season&#8217s progress, also responding to some rumors about alleged strained relations at Continassa.

“Certainly I am disappointed because it did not go as we hoped, especially in the Coppa Italia and Champions – explained Motta -. However, I do not agree when I hear talk of failure: our work was interrupted when we were one point away from fourth place in the standings, which was, at the beginning of the season, the priority goal”.

“I know very well that, in teams of Juve’s level, you have to win – added the Italo-Brazilian -. Especially after years in which this did not happen. The project definitely did not go as we wanted or as we had imagined (…) I have always analyzed what went wrong, but even after a win I think you can change something, a game strategy, a substitution, a choice, a starter. It is not that when you win everything is perfect. So many things I would redo, so many things I would change”.

“Never has anyone I have worked with, in my career, said publicly that they had problems with me– Thiago Motta then glossed -. At Juve I had a very good relationship with all my players from a professional and human point of view (…) Judging me as a coach, criticizing my choices of the field, of players, of tactics, everything that has to do with soccer I accept and will always accept. And indeed they are analyses that help to grow. However, I do not accept personal attacks”.
