Lewis Hamilton tries to hide disappointment over seventh place finish

Lewis Hamilton spoke after the disappointing race in Japan, closed with an anonymous seventh place. The victory in the sprint in China remains an isolated case in a start of the season to forget.
“The race was not bad. Nothing special of course. We still lack knowledge of some components of our car, and I myself still need to improve in terms of method”.
“I tried something different on the strategy level and made up a position from the start but we have no pace. I didn”t expect much in the transition from hard to medium compound, as Leclerc”;
“We still lacked performance. Even if I had started ahead of the Mercedes I think at least one of them would have passed me”.
