Jorge Bolaño has died, heart attack at 47 for the'former Parma midfielder

Jorge Bolaño, a former midfielder seen in Italy with the shirts of Parma, Modena, Lecce and Sampdoria, has died at the age of 47. The Colombian was struck down by a heart attack in Cucuta, in Colombia, while attending a relative’s birthday party.
In his career he had won the Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia with Parma and had also played with Modena, Lecce and Sampdoria between 1999 and 2009.
Bolaño, one goal in 36 appearances with his national team, had also played in the 1998 World Cup in France and after retiring had been coach in the minor divisions of Independiente Santa Fe and more recently assistant coach of Colombia’s Under 15 team.
“The death of Jorge Bolaño leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and admired him. His legacy as a soccer player and coach will remain in the memory of Colombian sports” wrote the Colombian Football Federation in a statement.
