Poncharal unabashed about Marc Marquez: "He is the leader of the group"
Hervé Poncharal gave a long interview to GPOne.com in which he praised Marc Marquez: “I have admired Marc relentlessly since the first day I saw him in the 125 World Championship. He has an incredible personality and is a more than outstanding rider. He has been called the GOAT, the greatest of all time. He proves every day that he is special. What he showed on the grid at Austin underscores that he is ‘the leader of the pack’”.
The Red Bull Tech3 team owner also celebrated the Spaniard’s victory at Buriram: “How many riders, in that difficult situation, would have kept such precise control of their tire pressure in their first Grand Prix and put themselves in second place, in the slipstream, to avoid a penalty that way? Marc is not only the fastest rider of our time, but also has an excellent brain”.
“There are many aspects of Marc that I admire – added the French team boss – He reflects on many aspects of racing. Perhaps Marc’s riding style and his crash were not the ideal recipe for winning the championship, but at the beginning he was mainly thinking about how to improve his situation”.
