Champions: Barcelona flies with a record-breaking Lewandowski, PSG comeback against'Aston Villa

With Wednesday night’s matches completed the picture of the’first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League: returning to the locker room with a giant smile is Barcelona, which annihilates Borussia Dortmund with a peremptory 4-0, while the PSG starts badly but manages to come back at home against Aston Villa, closing on the score of 3-1.
At the Olympic Stadium ‘Lluis Companys’ in Montjuic, Barça did not give BVB a chance, although at the end of the first half, despite extensive domination, they scored only one goal, through Raphinha, on 25′. In the second half, however, the Robert Lewandowski went wild, first doubling on 48′ and then sealing the trio on 66′. For the Pole also comes a new record: he is the first footballer ever to score at least ten goals in a Champions league season with three different clubs: Barcelona, Bayern Munich and also Borussia Dortmund. Lamine Yamal then closes the accounts at 77′: the return to Westphalia seems a formality.
Decidedly different the’performance at the Parc des Princes: Morgan Rogers surprises Gigio Donnarumma at 35′, putting Aston Villa ahead, but PSG reacted almost immediately and reached the equalizer at 39′, with a great right-footed shot from the edge of the box. At the beginning of the second half, in minute 49, the Parisians overturned the score with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose diagonal shot left Emiliano Martinez no chance. By Nuno Mendes, in 92′, the 3-1 goal, on a deep assist by Dembelé.
The return leg of both matches, in Dortmund and Birmingham, will be played on Tuesday, April 15. The following day will instead feature Inter-Bayern Munich in Milan, with the Nerazzurri starting from the 2-1 at the’Allianz Arena, and Real Madrid-Arsenal, with the Blancos forced to make up the 3-0 loss they suffered at the’Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.
