Federica Pellegrini in an interview with Repubblica had some for everyone, from Thomas Ceccon (“He is worth nothing”) to ex Filippo Magnini (“Let’s talk about something else”) to social insults for “Dancing with the Stars” (“Italy is still a patriarchal country”). Most importantly, the “Divine” returned to attack Jannik Sinner on the Clostebol case. Here are her words.

“Why wasn’t he suspended immediately? He is defended by everyone, no matter what. But his case was treated differently than 99% of cases. Why should Sinner’s case be different? That is my question.”

“It is true that if my physio drinks a beer and runs someone over it is not my fault, but it becomes my responsibility if the physio uses a cream on me and then I test positive. The disqualification is obvious and fair but it came precisely only after the agency appealed: why should the Sinner case be any different?”

“An immediate suspension there was not. I am not saying there should have been, but in fact he was treated as a different case from 99 percent of other athletes who have paid for doping negligence.”

“Every day we have to provide one-hour on-call slots. even when we’re on vacation, to allow the anti-doping to visit us wherever we are. I had an alarm clock going off at 10 p.m. that said location form, to remind me that I had to update the address I was at.”
