L'Inter kicks down a trio with Cagliari and stretches ahead of Napoli

After the feat in Munich, Inter made no mistake in the league either. Despite the turnover, the Nerazzurri made the field factor count by overwhelming Cagliari 3-1.
The first chance was for the Nerazzurri in the 8th minute: Dimarco imbued for Lautaro Martinez, who kicked at the first post but caught the outside of the net. Five minutes later, however, Inter found the go-ahead goal with Arnautovic, who was the first to pounce on Carlos Augusto’s pass and pierced Caprile with a powerful shot that slotted under the crossbar.
The goal was scored in the first minute.
On 25 minutes came Cagliari’s reply with Piccoli, who burned De Vrij at speed, but on one-on-one with Sommer was hypnotized by the Nerazzurri extreme defender. On top of the damage, however, comes the mockery for the islanders: in the 26th minute, Arnautovic launches long for Lautaro, who evades Palomino’s marking and beats Caprile with a precise lob.
The resumption began with a cold shower for Inter, as on 48′ Cagliari shortened the gap: Coman disposed on the left for Augello, cross into the box for Piccoli, who took an undisturbed header and punished an unguarded Sommer.
A few minutes later, however, the Nerazzurri were back on top by two goals: on the development of a corner Bisseck anticipated Mina’s header and again pierced Caprile. Wounded by the conceded goal, Cagliari threw itself forward in an attempt to reopen the match and at 78′ Piccoli was denied the joy of a personal double thanks to a save on the goal line by De Vrij.
From then on, the hosts manage to handle the ball until the final three whistles.
Thanks to this success, Inter consolidated first place in the standings, moving to +7 over Napoli. Cagliari, on the other hand, remains stuck at 30 with only six points ahead of the relegation zone.
