Jorge Martin without peace, Aprilia provides clarity on his condition

Jorge Martin definitely has an open account with fate in this start of the 2025 season: the MotoGp world champion, who has just returned to Qatar after missing the first three races due to injury, slipped on a kerb during the Sunday GP, being inadvertently hit by Fabio Di Giannantonio, who was following him very close.
After a moment of great concern, the Spanish rider tried to calm everyone down but was nevertheless taken to the circuit’s medical center and will undergo further tests: “Jorge Martin suffered a rib contusion on the right side with pneumothorax – explained the Aprilia at the end of the race -, he is conscious and has no difficulty using his limbs. He will undergo a CT scan at the hospital for further investigation”.
The 2024 world champion’s adventure in Aprilia began in the worst way and is continuing in the same vein: Martin, in fact, had suffered two injuries in the month before the start of the season, one in testing in Malaysia and one in training, getting in the first case fractures in his hand and foot and in the second the fracture of the radius, some carpal bones and at the height of the heel.
Only after the CT scan will it be possible to tell when Martin will be able to get back on the bike, but the calendar does not help him, given the few breaks: April 26 and 27 are in fact raced at Jerez de la Frontera, May 10 and 11 at Le Mans, and May 24 and 25 at Silverstone. With Marquez already now on 123 points, the possibility of a rainbow encore for Jorge Martin seems very slim indeed.
