Lorenzo Musetti stops at the most beautiful, in Monte Carlo wins Carlos Alcaraz

In the final of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, Lorenzo Musetti, blocked by a thigh injury, succumbed to Carlos Alcaraz in the distance. The Spaniard won for the first time in the Principality of Monaco, beating the Carraraz by a score of 3-6 6-1 6-0 in an ira and 47 minutes of play. Thus ends in the worst way, even with an injury, the Italian’s first final in a Masters 1000.
With a great forehand pass Alcaraz makes the break immediately in the first game and at the first opportunity. Musetti, however, strung together four consecutive games with an immediate counterbreak at the third opportunity and a second break in the fourth game on the second useful ball. Lorenzo has no problem confirming the lead in the next three turnovers and wins the first partial at the first set point.
In the second set it is a different Alcaraz: he flies 5-0 and then 5-1 40-0, but here he makes up for it and Musetti has fouri break points that however he fails to exploit and on the fourth chance the Murcian stretches the match to the decisive partial, in whose first game Musetti recovers from 15-40 but then on the third break point he has to surrender at the change of court asks the umpire for the physio.
All of a sudden Lorenzo is no longer moving and in fact in the next two games he scrapes together only two points and then goes down by two breaks. After medical treatment he stays on the court anyway but obviously there is nothing more he can do. This time he is the one who suffers the comeback after making four in the previous five rounds and Alcaraz wins his 18th tournament on the major circuit, his second of the year after the one on the indoor cement in Rotterdam.
