Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain are the first two qualifiers for the Champions League semifinals, pending the quarterfinal return between Inter and Bayern Munich and between Real Madrid and Arsenal.
Barcelona, on the strength of the 4-0 win in the’first leg, tried to manage the result but took big risks at Signal Iduna Park. A hat trick by Guirassy (11′, 49′ and 76′) scared the Spaniards, who thanks to an’own-goal by Bensebaini (54′) still passed the round.
Same story or nearly so for Psg, which found itself one step away from a nightmare after the illusory double lead signed by Hakimi and Mendes. Tielemans (34′), McGinn (54′) and Konsa (57′) reversed the result but at 3-2 Donnarumma locked the door, giving the French the qualification.
