Cristiano Ronaldo has no intention of stopping. At 40 years of age, the Portuguese star is close to renewing his contract with Al-Nassr and is ambitiously eyeing two monumental goals: reaching 1,000 career goals and contesting the 2026 World Cup. According to reports in the Spanish daily Marca, the contract extension agreement with the Saudi club is now in its final details. There is talk of a one-year renewal, with an option for a second season, and shock figures: about 200 million euros per season, excluding bonuses and sponsorships.

Negotiations, which began as early as January, have slowed down due to bureaucratic issues, but now seem really close to conclusion. CR7 will thus continue to be the leading face of the Saudi Pro League, a league he himself helped transform into a global stage, bringing with him other champions of the caliber of Karim Benzema and Neymar.

In addition to the field, Ronaldo has also become a commercial icon of Saudi Arabia’s sports project. There is no shortage of rumors about his future involvement in the ownership of Valencia through investments from the Middle East.

But what is most striking is his desire to continue writing history. With 934 official goals already scored, CR7 is the current top scorer in the Saudi league with 23 goals, demonstrating enviable fitness. The 1,000-goal challenge is ambitious, but not impossible for someone like him. And in the background, the last big dream: to participate in the 2026 World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada. Because, after all, legends do not retire: they surpass themselves.
