New coach dreams of Russian giant’s arrival

Genoa’s management is continuing to sound out the market ahead of the January winter session, in which they will try to give reinforcements to Alberto Gilardino, who took over from Blessin, in order to aim for direct promotion to Serie A in the second half of the championship.

The department that, without a doubt, would need more intervention is the attack: the offensive potential of the Rossoblù is already important, thanks mainly to Massimo Coda, but the leads that could materialize would greatly increase the specific weight of the Genoese team’s attack.

In order to replenish the roster they are also looking at the free agents market and the latest name that has emerged is very suggestive: it is that of former Russian national team captain and experienced striker Artem Dzyuba.

The 1988 class is known for his mammoth physical frame and in his career has played with the shirts of Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg among others. In the summer of 2022 he moved from Zenit to Turkish club Adana Demirspor with whom, however, he terminated his contract after only four months. Now it could be Genoa itself that could try the track that would lead to the Moscow-born center forward.
