Jasmine Paolini beats Niemeier and flies to quarterfinals in Stuttgart

Jasmine Paolini’s path to the WTA 500 in Stuttgart continues smoothly. After a comfortable victory in the opener with wildcard Lys, the tennist from Tuscany also overcame Jule Niemeier, world number 121, in two sets.
6-1 7-5 the score accrued in favor of the Italian after almost an hour and a half of play. The first set saw Paolini dominate, who from 1-1 strung together a streak of five consecutive games with which she won the first partial(6-1).
Second set was more difficult.
The second set was more tightly contested with the world No. 6 leading by a break twice but both times she was caught up by her opponent. Down 4-5, Paolini placed a new and decisive stretch, also winning the second set (7-5).
Thanks to this victory, Paolini reaches the quarterfinals of the ‘Porsche Tennis Grand Prix’ where she will face the winner of the challenge between Coco Gauff, the fourth seeded seed, and Ella Seidel.
