Adriano Panatta berates Carlos Alcaraz

Adriano Panatta commented to the microphones of La Domenica Sportiva on the defeat of Carlos Alcaraz in the final in Barcelona. The Murcia tennis player in the tournament’s last act complained about a problem that penalized him in the match against Holger Rune: “Alcaraz disappointed in Barcelona and it makes me laugh when I think that he then complains about the 1000s lasting two weeks…”, Panatta explained.
“After Monte Carlo he went to Barcelona, then he will do Madrid, Rome and Paris without ever stopping. Therein lies the problem: these guys never stop. Let’s reason: is it a calendar problem or a scheduling problem because he always plays?”” is what Panatta wonders about Jannik Sinner’s rival.
“For me if you get to a certain level your goal should be to get to the top in the 4 Grand Slam tournaments then another 7-8 major tournaments between the various Masters 1000s. But they should focus only on those. They cannot play all the time, every week for the whole year and then hope to win all the time”.
“In the end, players get hurt: they play every day, they throw super-powerful balls, they play all physical tennis and they move at tremendous speeds”.
