The’NBA is serious. The will to kick off a European league with the principles that have made the’NBA so popular around the world is great. After the press conference launching the project, talks are continuing.

Italy is considered a strategic country for the creation of the NBA Europe tournament. Two cities are of particular interest, namely Milan and Rome. If in the city of Milan there is already the right club to focus on (Olimpia Milano), in Rome an attempt will be made to create a new one from scratch.

“In the case of Rome, we are open to every option: I see a scenario in which we could form a partnership with one of the big soccer teams in the city or create a new team” the words of George Aivazoglou, NBA head for Europe, to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Everything is easier as far as Olimpia Milano is concerned: “Olimpia Milano is owned by the Armani family, a fantastic club with a great history that has in Ettore Messina a person we consider part of the extended NBA family” the conclusions of George Aivazoglou himself. In short, in the new NBA-branded European league, the presence of Milan and Rome is definitely well regarded by those who are organizing the new format.
