Tour of the Alps, Marco Frigo pulls off the feat at home of Jannik Sinner

Marco Frigo signs the’feat in the third stage of the Tour of the Alps and on the finish line in San Candido, the town where Jannik Sinner was born, he takes his first victory among the professionals.

The 25-year-old from Vicenza, Italy, of Israel Premier Tech slipped into the breakaway sprung from the first kilometers after the start from Sterzing, pulled away from everyone on the Furcia Pass and completed a solo action of more than 50 kilometers by gaining on the climbs and managing the advantage on the treacherous descents.

At his back, the top group came very close with Jai Hindley winning the sprint for second place just 19 seconds behind the winner.

Third place for Derek Gee, fourth for Giulio Ciccone and seventh for Damiano Caruso with Australia’s Michael Storer retaining the overall leader jersey.
