In Madrid Luciano Darderi withdraws against Frances Tiafoe

The Madrid Masters 1000 ended badly for Luciano Darderi, world number 46, who retired in the second-round match after nearly an hour and 10 minutes of play, when he was down 7-5 3-1 against the American Frances Tiafoe.
The Italian-Argentine cancels two break points in the first game of the match, then has to capitulate at 5-5 and Tiafoe in the next game closes the first set.
Darderi suffers another break right away in the opening of the second set, holds serve in the third game after nullifying a break ball but at 3-1, when he is down 15-30, throws in the towel, possibly due to a stomach problem.
