Farewell to Jair, one of the stars of Herrera’s Great Inter Milan

Mourning in the world of soccer. At the age of 84, Jair, one of the shiniest symbols of Herrera’s Great Inter, a team that became legendary for the many trophies it won,
passed away.
Sick for some time, he died in his native Brazil. With the Nerazzurri jersey he played for nine seasons (not consecutive, as he also played one year with the Roma jersey, 1967/68 season). In total, no less than 266 matches in the Nerazzurri, with 70 goals.
With Inter he won a great deal, notably four titles as Champion of Italy, two Champions Cups (the current Champions League) and two Intercontinental Cups. Mostly remembered of him is the goal at Benfica that gave the second Champions Cup (1965). Also on his palmares was a World Cup title won with Brazil (1962), although, in truth, never taking the field. He was nicknamed the Black Arrow. A player endowed with an uncommon technical quality, he was a true ace.
“He passed away Jair. A right winger with phenomenal dribbling, he won everything with Grande Inter. Four championships, two Champions Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, a place in the eternity of a legendary team. The club embraces his family at this difficult time” this is the official statement of the Nerazzurri club.
