Alex Marquez takes his first career MotoGP victory in Jerez: the Team Gresini centaur wins the Spanish Grand Prix ahead of a surprising Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) and is the new World Championship leader. Marc Marquez, who fell in the early laps, manages to climb back up to 13th position.

Early laps full of twists and turns: Bagnaia surprises Marc Marquez at the start, the two duel for second position behind Fabio Quartararo, then the number 93 falls sensationally on the third lap and restarts in second-to-last position. Alex Marquez grows as the laps go by: the Team Gresini rider overtakes first Bagnaia and then Quartararo, taking the lead with 15 laps to go.

Bagnaia struggled and failed to get back on Quartararo, while Alex Marquez flew unchallenged to his first career MotoGP victory, gaining more and more margin over the Yamaha Frenchman. In the rear, Marc Marquez despite a bike damaged by the crash manages to climb back into the points zone, finishing in 13th position.
