Andrey Rublev says no to Anna Kalinskaya and brings up Jannik Sinner. The Russian tennis player, in a question put to him on the Media Day of the ‘Mutua Madrid Open’, allegedly declined his compatriot’s offer to play the mixed doubles tournament together at the upcoming Us Open.

“Actually I had completely forgotten about this tournament. Today I thought about it and asked Andrey –Kalinskaya had said at a press conference in Madrid -I wanted to play with him, but he has already made arrangements and did not expect me to ask him. I have not received any proposals so far, I do not know if I will play, we will see. Among the Russians I would like to play only with him. Apparently, I will have to look for a foreign partner”.

“Honestly, I don’t even want to get into it or try to figure it out, because I already have an agreement with Muchova. I didn’t know Anna wanted to play with me. Jannik or not Jannik, I don&#8217t want to get involved. I didn&#8217t know until later that she wanted it. What can I answer? I am sorry, but I have already made a commitment” was the retort of the number 8 in the ATP ranking.

Both Kalinskaya and Rublev have already been eliminated from the Spanish tournament: the WTA ranking number 29 surrendered in the third round to Madison Keys, while the Moscow tennis player was defeated by surprise by Alexander Bublik in the round of 16.
