Lorenzo Musetti does not look to the Top 10

After the victory in the round of 16 of the Madrid over Stefanos Tsitsipas, already beaten in Monte Carlo, Lorenzo Musetti is virtually No. 10 in the ATP rankings and as of Monday, May 5, could enter the top 10 players in the world for the first time.
The Carrara player, however, is not thinking about the world ranking: “Entry into the Top 10? I don’t look at the ranking, I just have to try to focus on each match, but yes, I would say that the confidence, the continuity, and especially the’experience of winning certain matches is starting to remind me of that of the Top 10”.
The Blue, at the ATP microphones, also told an amusing backstory about the power outage: “We had a really difficult day, honestly you understand how miserable you are without electricity, and we had a lot of problems with traffic So, I arrived in the morning, it took us two hours to get here, usually it takes 20 minutes. Then we walked back because there were no cars, no possibility to go back. Me, Matteo (Berrettini, retired in the match against Jack Draper) and Flavio (Cobolli, defeated in singles in the third round) took a nice walk back to the hotel and walked for two hours. It might have been a good workout ahead of today”.

In the round of 16 of the ‘Mutua Madrid Open‘ Musetti will find again the Australian Alex De Minaur, world No. 7 and No. 6 in the seedings, who had already been defeated in Monte Carlo before bowing out in the final to Carlos Alcaraz.
