Arrigo Sacchi suggests two moves to Simone Inzaghi for return with Barcelona

Arrigo Sacchi spoke about Barcelona-Inter in the Gazzetta dello Sport: “Wonderful, the triumph of soccer. Inter running away with a deadly one-two, and then Barcelona, also because of a somewhat renunciatory attitude of the Nerazzurri, that goes upstream and, dragged by that phenomenon of Yamal, arrives at halftime at 2-2. Truly 45 minutes to be applauded”.

“Inter returned to the field with a different flair than how it had finished the first half. It seemed to me more aggressive, a little more ‘high’ it even tried to attack Barcelona. And then came Dumfries’ goal to make it 3-2. On high balls the Nerazzurri were, and are, clearly superior, and this must be a weapon to exploit in the return”.

“I am honest: I expected something more from Barcelona, especially in the second half. The Blaugrana have been following them throughout the season and on other occasions they have impressed me more. This time, however, Inter were able to contain them, to close spaces, to suffer when there was to suffer with great spirit of sacrifice. I want to give kudos to Inzaghi because he understood how to deal with Barça, he put them in difficulty and showed that they can play at par”.

“I believe Inter can do it. Now it will be crucial to recover physical and psychological energy, and I know how much of it is spent in challenges like this. And then maybe being able to get some players back on their feet that are important for the Nerazzurri, and I am clearly thinking of Lautaro and Dimarco. But on the level of play, I think Inter has what it takes to send Barcelona into a crisis in the return leg at the San Siro. What will Inter have to do to land in the final? Exploit the spaces that Barcelona concedes with regularity. And rely heavily on free kicks, because in aerial play the Nerazzurri are clearly superior”.
