All Milan soccer club: the future of the Rossoneri goalkeeper is yet to be defined. Goalkeeper of the last scudetto and now also captain of the team, Mike Maignan was certain of a contract extension complete with a tweak of the salary. The problems reported in the last season, however, are delaying the’operation, so much so that management is also looking at other solutions. One of which involves replacing him with Marco Carnesecchi.

The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ reports that Milan management and Maignan’s entourage are experiencing a stalemate. The French goalkeeper currently has a contract set to expire on June 30, 2026, which means it is necessary to finalize everything by the summer to avoid him starting next season with the possibility of freeing himself at parameter zero.

Hence the doubts of Milan, taking into account the fact that Maignan already earns almost 5 million a year. It is precisely this aspect that is currently holding back the reaching of an agreement, while at the same time increasing the chances of the Rossoneri number 1’s departure. Especially in the Premier League, there would be no shortage of possibilities, and a transfer would allow the Diavolo to save on a rich salary and forfeit precious millions to return to the market.

If this were the club’s decision, then, Milan would jump on the trail of Marco Carnesecchi. The young goalkeeper from Atalanta is coming off a season at the highest level and could follow the same path as his predecessor Marco Sportiello. There would, of course, be a need to convince the Orobian management, which in recent years has been very unwilling to grant discounts. Hence the stalemate, which Via Aldo Rossi needs to resolve as soon as possible.
