Inter are preparing to live six decisive days for their season and Simone Inzaghi has already charted the course: maximum rotation in the league to arrive with fresh energy to the return challenge with Barcelona. Against Verona on Saturday, May 3 at the San Siro at 8:45 p.m., the Nerazzurri coach will revolutionize the starting eleven compared to the Montjuïc match: as many as nine changes in sight, with Sommer and Bisseck the only ones confirmed.

The weight of the European return leg, where Inter will have to compulsorily win to qualify, imposes drastic choices. And Inzaghi, disqualified for the challenge against Hellas, will entrust the management of the match to deputy Farris. The priority is clear: to preserve the energy of the starters, tested by the battle against the Blaugrana and called for a new colossal effort against Xavi’s talents, especially the impregnable Lamine Yamal.

The defense will be entrusted to De Vrij, Darmian and Carlos Augusto, while on the side lanes Zalewski will warm up. In the middle, with Calhanoglu disqualified, room for Asllani and Frattesi, with Zielinski ready to regain a starting shirt after two months. In attack, excluding Lautaro due to injury and with Thuram in management, it will most likely be the turn of two among Arnautovic, Correa and Taremi. The Iranian, on the rise, could also earn minutes with a view to Champions.

Deep turnover is an almost obligatory choice, but Inzaghi remains alert to the result of Napoli, which plays before Inter: if the Azzurri stumble against Lecce, the Scudetto dream – though difficult – would mathematically be back on track. At that point, a few more starters could be deployed. But the main goal is clear: overtake Barcelona. Everything else is secondary.
