Casper Ruud is the first finalist of the 2025 edition of the Madrid Masters 1000. The Norwegian tennis player, in fact, folded in two sets the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo with a score of 6-4 7-5, after one’hour and fifty-three minutes of play.

The match started immediately uphill for the world number 14, who had to save no less than four break points in the opening game. In the fifth game, however, Cerundolo manages to snatch service from his rival at zero. The joy for the Argentine, however, lasts very little, as the Norwegian’s counter-break is immediate. At that point Ruud rises to the top and with a three-games-to-one run wins the first set with a score of 6-4.

The second set follows the same score as the first, with Cerundolo managing to find the break on two occasions, but the Norwegian is very good on both occasions to bring himself right back in touch. Then, in the final stages, it is once again the world number 14 who raises the level and posts the decisive break in the 12th game, which paves the way for him to the third 1000 final of his career.

Casper Ruud will play for the title against the winner of the second semifinal between Britain&#8217s Jack Draper and Italy&#8217s Lorenzo Musetti.
